Michael Jackson's "This Is It" Goes Gold After Two Weeks

Michael Jackson’s “This Is It” companion album — really just an album of hits — sold a little over 200,000 copies last week and went gold. That means it’s sold over 500,000 copies in two weeks.

The really weird thing is that another greatest hits album from Jackson, “Number Ones,” sold about 33,000 copies, too. Are people just buying and rebuying the same songs? Hey, why not?

Meanwhile, some interesting news from the live performance front: Cirque du Soleil is heavily courting the Jackson estate for a Las Vegas-style show featuring Michael’s music. The Canadian-based company is said to be working hard to convince all the parties that they can do for Michael what they did for the Beatles with the “Love” show at the Mirage Hotel.

The money involved is said to be astronomical.

Right now, Cirque du Soleil is prepping an Elvis Presley show, “Viva Elvis,” which will start performances next month at the ARIA Hotel in Las Vegas. Once that show is off the ground, the Jackson estate will confer with the Cirque folks. Meantime, AEG Live is also hoping to get its “This Is It” show, featured in the movie, on tour in some way as well.

Perfect TV Comedy Writer; David Lloyd, Passes Away

David Lloyd, the great TV comedy writer whose scripts included “Chuckles Bites the Dust,” has passed away. According to the Internet Movie Data Base, Lloyd worked on 33 episodes of “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” as either the sole writer or executive story editor. His many solo installments included one of my favorites, in which Mary tries to throw a surprise birthday party for Lou Grant in her apartment.

Some of his other “MTM” classics included the shows with Eileen Heckart as Mary’s Aunt Flo, a career journalist who was Lou Grant’s match, and ones in which Lou helps Mary overcome sleeping pills to get some rest, Lou’s affair with Sue Anne Nivens and one in which Murray thinks he’s in love with Mary. I can remember as a teenager always waiting to see David Lloyd’s name on the MTM show credit because you knew it would be a good one.

Altogether, Lloyd seemed to carry the MTM stable of shows. He wrote for all of them: “Lou Grant,” “Rhoda” and “Phyllis.” He also wrote for “The Betty White Show.” He also wrote for “Cheers,” “Taxi” and “Frasier,” the latter where his son Christopher Lloyd was bylined. The result was 3 Emmy Awards. He also wrote one of the best “Cheers” episodes, in which the bar gang has to cater Woody’s wedding.

James L. Brooks, the co-creator of “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” and “Taxi” told me on Wednesday: “David was the perfect TV comedy writer. He wrote so much. You knew if he agreed to do your show, you had half the season.” Brooks said Lloyd especially liked writing for Betty White, who played Sue Anne, the nymphomaniac precursor to Rachel Ray. “He had a great laugh,” Brooks recalled. “But he also didn’t use an agent. He did his own negotiating, which unnerved everyone.” Lloyd, he said, often also did warm-ups for the shows.

Before he got into sitcoms Lloyd wrote hundreds of shows for Jack Paar, Johnny Carson and Dick Cavett, honing his comedy talents. By far, though, Chuckles Bites the Dust is Lloyd’s most famous TV episode, and is still considered the benchmark for writing of any kind. Lloyd won many awards for the script which included two recitations of Chuckles’ signature line: “A little song, a little dance, a little seltzer down your pants.”

Brooks says that when the episode was played at Cannes at a TV convention, no one — especially the French — understood it. “We were all there. No one laughed. The only people laughing were us. We were on the floor laughing.”

John Lloyd Cruz Snub On Sarah G.'s Record Breaker Concert

More and more wonder why is it that John Loyd Cruz did not attained on the Record Breaker Concert of Sarah Geronimo last Saturday at the Araneta Coliseum. All-boy group “Kanto Boys,” of which Cruz is a member, performed in the show last Saturday at the Araneta Coliseum.

Luis Manzano, Billy Crawford and Vhong Navarro were all present, except for Cruz. But the young actor has a valid explanation for his absence.

Hunk actor John Lloyd Cruz did not snub former leading lady Pop Princess Sarah Geronimo.
Cruz made this clarification after he failed to show up at Geronimo's "Record Breaker" concert.

The $1 Million Funeral of Michael Jackson

The Rev. Al Sharpton speaks at Michael Jackson's funeral service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, Calif., on Sept. 3, 2009.

So how much pop was in the King of Pop's funeral? After the world-televised seating of family and famous friends, most of Michael Jackson's Sept. 3 funeral took place behind the closed gates of Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, Calif. The event's costs, however, were only made public yesterday, when court papers were released as lawyers continued to wrangle over other estate details in court.

According to the papers, more than $1 million went into the event, including the solid bronze casket with 14-karat gold-plated handles and the party following the ceremony — all of which needed court approval for Michael Jackson's estate to cover the costs. That's a lot of This Is It ticket sales. The papers also show that sisters Janet and LaToya Jackson were owed reimbursements of $49,000 and $2,437, respectively, for fronting immediate funeral costs. As Katherine Jackson's lawyer states in the court papers, while the costs are "significant, they are entirely commensurate with the decedent's worldwide status as an entertainer and with the world's grief over his death."

Here's a breakdown of noteworthy expenses:

Interment costs in the Great Mausoleum of Forest Lawn-Glendale: $590,000

Endowment care by Forest Lawn-Glendale: $88,500

Embalming: $450

Casket coach: $250

Jackson's luxury casket (style 3-99 Prometheus): $25,000

Jackson's burial outfit: $35,000

Family's clothing allowance: $1,975

Framed picture of Michael Jackson to be placed next to the casket: $3,682

Invitations and programs: $11,716

Flowers: $16,000

Glendale police department and city support: $175,089

Designer for the funeral, Bush-Tompkins: $15,000

The post-funeral reception, attended by Jackson family members as well as producer music mogul Quincy Jones and the Rev. Al Sharpton, was held at nearby restaurant Villa Sorriso. It ran a tab of $21,455. The passed tray food, including tidbits like bruschetta, fruit skewers, beef satay and ratatouille, was one of the party's cheapest features at $4,200.

The most expensive? The open bar. Instructions on the bill said the bar was to "notify host when $10,800 was met." Based on the final total, the guests hit that alcohol ceiling. Now that's a wake made for a King.

Dennis Trillo: A new Host Of Star struck

Dennis Trillo said he did not expect that he will be replacing Dingdong Dantes as one of the hosts of the fifth season of GMA-7's reality-based artista search, StarStruck.

Dingdong, who was supposed to co-host StarStruck for the fifth time, was pulled out from the show to replace Richard Gomez in the daily game show Family Feud. Goma already declared his intention to run as a representative in Ormoc City in the 2010 elections, so he had to relinquish the hosting chores to Dingdong momentarily.

Dennis, on the other hand, was chosen by the Kapuso network to take over Dingdong's hosting job in StarStruck V.

"Siyempre, nagulat talaga ako dahil hindi naman talaga ako host. Although nagho-host ako sa SOP, pero co-host lang," Dennis said when asked about his reaction during the media junket prepared for him and the other StarStruck V host, Carla Abellana, on Thursday, at the 17th floor of GMA Network Center in Quezon City.

The former Adik Sa 'Yo star said he did not hesitate in accepting the offer because he believes that StarStruck V will be a good training ground for his hosting skill.

"Tinanggap ko [agad] kasi sobrang established na ng StarStruck, fifth [season] na 'to, e. And hindi rin naman basta-basta 'yong exposure ng mga host dito. Kumbaga, bukod doon sa mga talent, 'yong host din talaga ang pinapanood kaya magandang exposure. Para sa akin, iniisip ko na maganda rin itong training as a host and may maio-offer naman akong iba," Dennis explained.

As the new host of the talent-search program, the actor is aware that a lot of criticisms will be thrown at him, especially since this is his first major hosting job.

"Sa lahat ng mga baguhan, may masasabi at masasabi," said Dennis. "Kaya nasa sa akin 'yon kung papaano ko yun tatanggapin at kung papaano ko paghahandaan para pag ready na akong sumalang, maiisip nila na, 'Uy puwede rin pala siya.' Kaya ngayon, pinaghahandaan ko nang husto para kahit papaano, hindi naman ako mapahiya."

He also doesn't mind being compared to Dingdong, who hosted the show from its first season in 2003 until the fourth season in 2006.

Siyempre, gulat ako at kinabahan talaga. Siyempre, I have to start somewhere. Sa palagay ko, ito na ang chance ko para, alam mo 'yon, maipakita na iba na 'to."

Aside from honing his hosting skill, Dennis also thinks that StarStruck will serve as a venue to let the public know more about him.

"Palagay ko makakatulong dahil iba 'yong exposure na ibinibigay ng StarStruck, especially sa mga host. And kapag host ka, kailangan mo talagang mag-reach out, hindi lang sa mga taong nasa studio, kumbaga, pati na rin sa mga nanonood sa bahay nila. So, 'yon ang magiging magandang training para sa akin din."

PREPARATIONS FOR HIS HOSTING JOB. Like in acting, Dennis also takes his newfound career seriously. In fact, he's been doing some preparations to improve his hosting skill.

How is Dennis planning to carry out his job as StarStruck V host?

From acting to singing, Dennis excitedly looks forward to his new job. "Feeling ko, after nitong StarStruck, masasabi ko na kumpleto na ako. Kumbaga, nagawa ko na ang lahat. Malaking-malaki talaga ang maitutulong nito, 'yong pagiging host ko, bilang isang complete na artist," he said.

DEMI LOVATO and JOE JONAS dating

How can we say that Joe Jonas has moved on after his split from actress Camilla Belle?- This could be enough proof that the pop star is moving on because he is reportedly dating Camp rock co-star Demi Lovato.

The Disney sensations grew close after appearing in the musical last year and they are scheduled to share a movie set again when "Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam" goes before cameras.

However, the pair is rumored have more than a work relationship.

Joe, 20, publicly displayed his affection for 17-year-old Lovato earlier this month on a double date at a Toronto, Canada restaurant with older brother Kevin and his fiancee Danielle Deleasa.

A source says, "They're more than just friends."

Belle and Jonas, who previously romanced Taylor Swift, ended their romance in July.

PBB BIG SWAP

The Big Twist Of PBB Double Up in the Philippine and BB in Finland was happen. It was Cathy swapped with Katlin in Finland.

BB Finland, meet Cathy! At 4 a.m., Sunday, which is around 12:30 nn Manila time, Cathy finally sets foot in Finland. Escorted by none other but PBB's head honcho, Direk Laurenti Dyogi, she headed to Espoo, the site of Finland's Big Brother house. She arrived to a near-empty city, Sunday being a holiday of sorts. Cathy breathed in the cool air as she sent her warm greetings from beside the train tracks. Before even stepping inside the Big Brother house, Cathy already had a challenge to face. As fate would have it, all her luggage was accidentally left behind in Bangkok, which meant that she would start her first day with literally just the clothes on her back! How she would deal with this setback, especially with the extreme cold that comes with the winter season, is just one of the things to watch out for.

Meanwhile, back in Manila, Katlin was also welcomed into the PBB House. The blonde housemate from BB Finland was ushered into the confession room for her first exchange with Kuya. After a short welcome speech, Kuya presented Katlin with the two cross-stitch artworks of the two houses. Though unfinished, the results of this week's task had the traditional "Mabuhay!" greeting stitched on them. For her first task, Katlin was made to pick which among the two she liked better. Little did she know that her choice would decide two major things: which house she would belong to and which team would win 100% of the week's budget. She looked at both works briefly, and decided to go with House A's project, primarily because of the colorful threads. Kuya then tasked her to carry the chosen cross-stitch into House A, her temporary residence. Katlin was welcomed with shouts, cheers and hugs by the housemates. Not only were they ecstatic to play host to Katlin, but her entry signified that at long last, their team achieved what seemed to be forever sliding out of their grasp: winning the weekly task! For the new House A team, they regained more than 100% weekly budget. They regained pride and the drive to get back in the game. Katlin, the one who made it possible, was then led to the pool area, which they decorated to simulate the feel of a beach party. To welcome her, the housemates presented her with white roses and surrounded her VIP seat with candles. Will she feel as welcome in the coming days, or would she wish herself back in the the familiar BB Finland?

Michael Jackson's dark side

Jackson's career was all but comatose four years ago when he stood trial for child molestation in California. Despite lurid testimony from a 13-year-old boy who said that Jackson conducted sexual acts with him, a jury decided he was not guilty. But damage had been done.

"It was all over after the trial," said veteran rock critic Dave Marsh, author of the 1985 book "Trapped: Michael Jackson and the Crossover Dream." "For me, I think he was dead as a celebrity before he was dead as a person. It was pretty pathetic, the last few years. He managed to whittle himself down to size. It's a shame, really."

In the days following the self-proclaimed king of pop's death on June 25 aged 50, reports of prescription-drug abuse have served as eerie reminders of the pharmaceutical cocktails that Presley was taking before he died in 1977.

As was also the case with Presley, Jackson's sales suddenly spiked after his death. Manufacturing plants struggled to keep up with demand as fans around the world snapped up his albums. And as fans fondly favor the "young Elvis," so they focus on "young Michael" before his face underwent startling changes.

Margo Jefferson, author of the 2006 book "On Michael Jackson," hoped people could separate their feelings about Jackson the artist from their attitude toward Jackson the man.

"I think we can multi-task when it comes to our cultural icons," said Jefferson. "We can live simultaneously with their enormous talent, be it a Michael Jackson, or a Marlon Brando or a Judy Garland or an Elvis. And we can live with the knowledge of the enormous damage that they did to themselves, that was done to them, and that they did to other people."

British music biographer Barney Hoskyns glumly predicted Jackson would become "a kind of martyr to fame."

"What staggers me is how myopic the most dedicated of his fans can be, the way they have been able to just deny to themselves the reality of Michael's hypocrisy," he said.

YOUNG BOYS

In 1993, Jackson paid a reported $23 million to make a first child molestation allegation go away. A decade later he defiantly told a TV interviewer there was nothing wrong with sleeping with young boys.

That same year, 2003, came a second round of accusations of sex with a minor and the criminal charge of molestation.

Biographer Christopher Andersen's 1994 book "Michael Jackson Unauthorized" claimed the singer spent nearly every night over a three-year period through 1987 with young boys between the ages of nine and 14.

When Stephen Davis, ghostwriter of Jackson memoir "Moon Walk," was at Jackson's Encino, Calif. home in 1987 conducting interviews, a succession of preteen boys visited constantly.

"I never saw them in bed together, but it makes perfect sense to me that it was like camping out," he said. "Camping out with Uncle Mike. But I don't believe he ever laid a finger on them."

While the sexual allegations may tarnish his reputation, and speculation about drug use and cosmetic surgery will likely be talked about for years, Jackson's musical legacy is on safer ground -- even if his best days were well behind him by the time he died.

His 1982 disc "Thriller" remains the biggest-selling album of all time thanks to such video-fueled hits as "Billie Jean" and "Beat It." But "Bad," (1987) "Dangerous" (1991) and "Invincible" (2001) successively cost more and sold less.

"Everything on 'Bad' sounded like it had been written by a committee or a computer," said Hoskyns. "The subsequent albums were horrible too ... He had become so fake that he didn't even know what was real about himself anymore."

What's more, innovators like Prince -- with his 1987 album "Sign o' the Times" -- were making music that was "ten times more radical than anything Michael could do," said Hoskyns

Childhood hits such as "ABC" and "I'll Be There" with his older brothers in the Jackson 5 remain rare examples of enduring teen pop. Jackson had the foresight to break out on his own, and in 1979 released what many people consider to be his masterpiece: "Off The Wall."

"It really did invent the sound of black popular music in the '80s, and everything starts with (chart-topping first single) 'Don't Stop 'til You Get Enough,'" said Hoskyns.

To that end, his musical legacy is largely secure, and it raises the big issue of what else he could have achieved had his life not been such a mess.

"He should have just been making music," said Rolling Stone writer Neil Strauss. "No one doubts when they see him that this guy just has it flowing through him. When he comes to dance and music, he embodies it. That's who he is."

MJ's Memory Still remain with"This Is It"

The autopsy report was right: Michael Jackson was healthy at the time of his shocking death last June. Any doubts should be erased after watching This is it, the well-edited compilation of rehearsal footage for MJ’s London concerts that gives film viewers a glimpse of the last few weeks of his life.

Even though his movements and singing were limited to conserve his energy and voice for the sold-out concerts, Michael Jackson was clearly in his element during the rehearsals. His music and signature dance moves were back and he easily eclipsed his equally talented back-up team of hip-hop dancers, who seemed to be panting more heavily than the 50-year old MJ after their routines although many were probably just half his age.

It’s almost a stretch to call This is it a documentary – it didn’t seem like the footage was even meant for a “The Making of ..." type of film. More than anything else, it’s a tightly woven package of video clips that traced the steps leading to what could have been the comeback concert of the controversy-saddled King of Pop.

From one song to the next, the viewers are transported into a journey of what-might-have-beens, and it was not surprising to learn that many audiences who watched the film were clapping at the end of every song. Each segment showed fantastic glimpses of stage sets, musical arrangements, and gravity-defying choreography that would have delighted concert viewers anywhere. And yes, you guessed right, the Asian-looking costume designer Zaldy Goco, who was interviewed in the film, is a Filipino.

Even though he’s the star of the show, MJ allowed his back-up crew to shine in many instances, notably the Greek-Australian lead guitarist Orianthi Panagaris in Black or White and vocalist Judith Hill in I just can’t stop loving you.

His philosophy was also very much in evidence in his choice of songs – the Man in the Mirror drawing inspiration from Gandhi’s famous quote “be the change you want to see in the world," and the little known Earth Song whose lovely lyrics are weighed down by a tune that’s sadly not catchy enough. There’s a surprise end note with “Earth Girl" Jasmine Alveran if you stay on to watch all the credits roll until the lights go on in the cinema.

The trendsetting MTV Thriller is given a new lease on its ghoulish life; expect a new music video on your screens soon courtesy of Sony, which will probably not want to waste all those gorgeous costumes and make-up. In fact, it would not be surprising if This is it spawns a dozen music videos of MJ’s recycled hits, judging from the audience response to the film.

Sony will surely have no problems recouping its $60-million investment in the rehearsal footage. In its first five days of showing alone, This is it earned more than $100 million worldwide, and more profits are to be had from DVD and record sales. It is unfortunate that Michael Jackson had no such luck, having had to grapple with financial woes throughout his lifetime and beyond. Unfettered by business concerns, and a self-image that stemmed from a troubled childhood, who knows what greater heights Michael Jackson could have achieved with his artistry?

And what an artist he was. Like all genuine masters of the craft, Michael Jackson had the discipline and perfectionist bent to match his awesome talent. At the same time, he relished the fun, sucking on a lollipop while checking the footage for one segment and squealing with glee as he rode the cherry-picker for another song.

Michael Jackson’s creative process was a revelation to watch. Most fans are awed by his dance moves, but the film shows that, more than anything else, it was all about the music and his audience for MJ. He had a feel for musical nuances and timing that, at times, he was moving to a beat that only he could hear, leaving his concert crew awestruck as they watched him onstage, roaring in applause when he came out of the moment.

This film is destined to be a DVD fixture in many a music lover’s shelf, the better to dance with Michael Jackson whenever the mood for some moon-walking strikes you. It would be no surprise if the next must-have item in many a fashionista’s wardrobe is a pair of red-orange jeans as well, or if you leave the cinema wanting to click your right hand and go strutting across the mall in that inimitable MJ fashion.

Director Kenny Ortega wisely omitted any references to MJ’s passing, no funeral footage or anything of the sort, thereby heightening the sense of loss that the viewer feels when the final frame proclaims the star of the show simply as Michael Jackson King of Pop.

As intended, the film chronicles the journey to MJ’s comeback concert, but in many ways, it also captures the soundtrack of his life – his philosophy, his dreams, his hopes for the world as we know it today. The immortal Michael Jackson will continue to inspire many generations to come, spreading his message of L-O-V-E.

Adam Lambert 's Liberty

This week, Adam Lambert's salivatingly-awaited, serpentine-accessorized Rolling Stone cover issue comes out.

"I don't think it should be a surprise for anyone to hear that I'm gay," Adam correctly states, adding: "I'm proud of my sexuality. I embrace it."

Not nearly as shocking as Lambert losing on Idol, really. It's not like Adam ever even slightly denied that he is homosexual. This is a guy who, on the most exciting Idol finale ever, not only performed in drag-queen-supplied Bob Mackie angel wings and platform Kiss boots from his "private collection," but also took on the Freddie Mercury role for the gay-rights Queen anthem "We Are The Champions," after all.But Adam's sexuality was likely something he wasn't allowed to officially discuss before now (past gay Idol contestants like R.J. Helton, Jim Verrarros, and Danny Noriega have all publicly claimed that the show ordered them to keep mum regarding their sexual orientation.

As Adam says in his RS interview: "I was worried that [coming out] would be so sensationalized that it would overshadow what I was there to do, which was sing. I'm an entertainer, and who I am and what I do in my personal life is a separate thing.

However, media attention regarding Adam's personal life has only intensified since AmIdol wrapped up last month, from the jillion tabloid photos of him holding hands with reported boyfriend Drake Labry, to the jillion outcries from gay groups and, um, Perez Hilton demanding that he officially come out and shout, "I AM GAY!" through a glittery, rainbow-striped bullhorn. Such public pressure seems odd, since it's not like anyone ever insisted that Taylor Hicks or David Cook hold press conferences to state on the record: "Hey everybody, I dig women." Go figure.

In the end, we'll just have to wait to tally Adam's album sales figures to see if this tell-all article was a turn-off to more conservative record-buyers, or if it indeed refocused the attention on Adam's music. Most successful openly gay celebrities--Elton John, Rosie O'Donnell, Ellen DeGeneres, George Michael, even Clay Aiken--have only come out well into their careers, after developing such strong fanbases that they could afford to lose a few fairweather fans put off by the news of their homosexuality. But Adam, possibly the bravest and boldest Idol contestant ever, faces a unique challenge by (as Kara DioGuardi recently worded it on The View) pretty much being out from the beginning.

Jessica Alba Being Investigated Of Alleged Vandalism In Oklahoma City

Jessica Alba is being investigated over alleged vandalism incidents in Oklahoma City, according to TMZ.

The actress, who has not been named by local police officially, is reportedly under investigation after two blogs reportedly “implicated” the actress in gluing up several posters of great white sharks around the city.

According to the police department’s crime report, obtained by Access Hollywood, the shark posters were discovered on at least two electrical boxes by Wendell Whisenhunt of the Parks and Recreation Department of Oklahoma City.

The shark posters were glued to the side of an underpass and on top of a United Way Billboard.

According to the crime report, at least two blogs on the Internet posted photos of the suspect “posing in front of some of the posters.”

“Two photos depict this female with a red bucket and what appears to be a bottle of glue,” the report notes.

The suspect’s name has been blacked out of the crime report, however, in photos which appear on TheLostOgle.com, a woman that appears to be Alba is seen holding her hands up and smiling in front of the shark poster pasted over the United Way sign.

The same woman is also seen pasting a shark poster on the front of an underpass. In a third photo, she is seen posting up the shark image on a large electrical box.

According to a blog from “White Mike,” the posters are being put up to draw attention to the Great White Shark population.

And on June 4, White Mike wrote, " Just came back from OK! Had a blast tagging with a new friend. Check out the pics with Jessica Alba’s help here” on his Twitter account, however, the link to the reported images has been removed.

On Tuesday afternoon, Alba issued a statement confirming she was involved in the incident and offering an apology.

“I got involved in something I should have had no part of. I realize that I should have used better judgment and I regret not thinking things through before I made a spontaneous and ill-advised decision to let myself get involved with the people behind this campaign,” she said in a statement to Access. “I sincerely apologize to the citizens of Oklahoma City and to the United Way for my involvement in this incident.”

Miley Cyrus & Justin Gaston Quits

Miley Cyrus has reportedly broken up with boyfriend Justin Gaston, according to E! News.

The 16-year-old pop star and the 20-year-old model had been dating for nearly nine months.

The “Hannah Montana” star reportedly called things off last week, as she was preparing to head to Georgia to film her new movie, “The Last Song.”

A source also confirmed the split to Us Weekly.

“They have been having trouble for a while,” the source told Us Weekly. “It’s been hard for a long time since Miley has been working so much and traveling a lot.”

However, distance may not have been the only factor behind the breakup.

Miley has recently been spending time with her ex, Nick Jonas, which a friend of Justin’s said put some strain on the relationship.

“She obviously has been hanging out with Nick again a lot and Justin was cool with it at first – as long as it was just a cool friendly thing,” a friend of Justin’s told E! News. “She didn’t cheat, but I guess Nick was trying to get her back the whole time.”

Over the weekend, Miley hit up her Twitter page to Tweet about spending time with Nick.

“i’m in a dark theater ‘writing’ a song with nick j who is rockin a faded egg plant shirt!” she wrote.

In a new interview with teen magazine Twist, Nick confirmed a duet with his ex-girlfriend on the Jonas Brother’s new song, “Before The Storm.”

“There’s two versions of the song basically, one that was written just for our record that we sang originally. And then I played it for Miley and we realized that if we just changed the lyrics a bit, we could make it more of our story, kind of share that side of us, and it could be great. So, we did,” Nick told Twist. “She came in and she and I sat down at the piano and just worked on lyrics a bit, tweaked it up, and it turned out great!”

Since leaving for Georgia, Miley has posted several Tweets referencing the distance between herself and her loved ones.

“why does saying good-bye hurt so much?” she wrote on June 7. “I’m just to far from where you are, i wanna go home.”

Bret Michaels Suffers Nose Fracture And Busted Lip

Bret Michaels performed at the Tony Awards, and all he got was a nose fracture — and a busted lip.

According to Michaels' spokeswoman, the rock singer had X-rays taken after getting clocked in the head by a descending set piece at Sunday's Radio City Music Hall ceremony.

Publicist Joann Mignano says Michaels, who performed with his 1980s hair-metal band Poison, fractured his nose and had to get three stitches in his lip. She says he was getting a CAT scan on Monday as a precaution, as he's had a past neck injury.

Although he's "pretty bruised up," Mignano says, Michaels was in good spirits. He wiped off blood with a towel and laughed backstage when host Neil Patrick Harris joked that the singer "gave head banging a whole new meaning."

Michaels took to the stage with Poison during the telecast's opening production number, featuring performances from the season's Broadway musicals.

They performed "Nothin' But a Good Time" with the cast of "Rock of Ages," and as Michaels exited the stage, he smacked into a piece of scenery and was knocked to the ground upon impact. Footage of the accident soon landed online, where Michaels' pratfall seemed to score as much attention as the prestigious ceremony itself.

Michaels had a "great time performing for the Broadway audience," says Mignano, who notes that the star of VH1's "Rock of Love" reality series took photos backstage with theater legends Liza Minnelli and Angela Lansbury.

Michaels, who has gone solo, is touring with his namesake band. Later this month, he'll take Poison on the road for a joint tour with Def Leppard and Cheap Trick.
