Nicolas Cage Buys A Pyramid For Himself


Cage's latest property purchase isn't a new mansion or a shiny car, it's a giant mausoleum in the shape of a pyramid. Nicolas Cage commissioned the 9-foot tall tomb to sit inside a New Orleans cemetery with the stipulation that it serve as his final resting place. The actor is known for being a devotee of the Louisiana city, and is the former owner of several homes inside its city limits.
Pharaoh-grave it's probably no coincidence that a pyramid is the logo associated with Cage's popular film franchise "National Treasure." In the movies, Cage plays a noted cryptologist with a fascination with the mysteries of ancient civilizations.

The extravagant purchase comes during a time of financial stress for Cage. His Bel Air home foreclosed earlier this month after an unsuccessful courthouse auction failed to attract the minimum bid of $10.4 million. The foreclosure was the latest straw in a pattern of financial strain for the Cage family.

Cage was hit with a $5 million tax bill earlier this year, allegedly due to mismanagement by his financial adviser. He's been forced to sell off many of his homes, dumping a medieval German castle, a Rhode Island estate and a Bahamian island.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. Defeats Shane Mosley


Boxing’s biggest box office draw remained undefeated in 41 fights, but not before giving his fans and his corner a scare when a right hand to the side of his head buckled his knees a minute into the second, and he had to grab Mosley to avoid going down. Mosley landed another right later in the round, but the rest of the night belonged to Mayweather.

Fighting before a star-studded crowd that included Muhammad Ali, Mayweather never came close to dropping Mosley, but landed so many more punches that the outcome wasn’t in doubt past the middle rounds. He had an answer for everything Mosley tried to do, landing right hands to the head seemingly at will as the fight progressed.
